Sarah C. Cullen

Lewes-Sarah C. Cullen, age 93, of Lewes died Friday, February 5, 2016 at home. She was born in Selbyville, DE and was the daughter of the late Irving and Ida Hitchens.

She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church in Lewes. She was also a former member of the Bridgeville Vol. Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary.

She is survived by a son, Gerald Cullen and his wife Charlotte of Willards; a daughter, Debra Fleming and her husband Gil of Rehoboth Beach; three grandchildren, Gary Hazel Jr., Gerald Cullen II and Taylor Fleming; one great grandson, Jared Hazel and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred T. Cullen in 1981; five brothers, Burl, Ollie, Steve, Oren and Lee Hitchens and four sisters, Irene Donahue, Pearl Smart, Elta Layton and Thelma Hitchens.

A funeral service will be held at 1pm on Wednesday, February 10 at Bishop-Hastings Funeral Home in Selbyville with Pastor David Munro officiating. Friends may call an hour before the service. Burial will be in Bishopville Cemetery in Bishopville.
