John Emory Truitt
SELBYVILLE � John Emory Truitt, 76, of Selbyville died Friday, Oct. 19, 2012,
at his home. Born in Williamsville, he WAs the son of May (Berger) Truitt of 
Selbyville and the late Preston Truitt.

John Emory had worked for the former Roland F. Scott & Son Men's Clothing Store 
in Selbyville for over 39 years and was a very active member of Sound United 
Methodist Church. He attended the University of Delaware and was a member of 
the Marching Band and the Symphonic Band. He also loved gardening, cooking, 
NASCAR and working with his son at J&S Lawn Service.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, June A. (Hudson) Truitt; his mother, 
May B. Truitt of Selbyville; one son, Michael Truitt (Dawn) of Selbyville; one 
daughter, Tracey Berry (Chris) of Bishopville; four grandchildren, Shane 
Truitt, Jennah Truitt, Rachel Berry and John Cole Berry; and three great-
grandchildren, Logan, Kyle and Makenzie Truitt.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Hastings Funeral Home 
in Selbyville where friends may call from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Burial will be in the 
Lynch Cemetery near Selbyville.
